Worship at Tree of Life
DAILY MORNING MINYAN AND MINCHA/MAARIV SERVICES
Since 1969, the self-titled “Morning Minyannaires” have led daily services in the Tree of Life chapel year-round. Each weekday morning and evening, they ensure that the required minyan is present, a davener, or prayer leader, is ready to take the pulpit, the honors are properly distributed and the yahrzeit list is read aloud. The Minyannaires are famous for their warm hospitality, especially to those who have experienced a recent loss in their family. The continental breakfast that follows every morning minyan is open to all.

FRIDAY EVENING SHABBAT SERVICES
Begin your celebration of Shabbat at our beautiful Friday evening services led by Rabbi Stephen Listfield, where we warmly welcome the holiday as a community. Make a break with the work week, recharge your spirit and form a deeper connection with the traditional prayers and music of Shabbat. On the first Friday of every month, we enhance the service with the Tree of Life musical players – “Friday Night Chai” – and invite you to respond to the prayers as the mood strikes you – sing, clap and even dance. In addition, children of all ages celebrating a birthday that month are called to the chapel bimah to receive a birthday blessing and gift. All Friday evening services are followed by a festive Oneg Shabbat.
Family Kabbalat Service – 5:45 pm
First Friday of the month – 8:15 pm
SHABBAT MORNING SERVICE AND TALMUD TORAH STUDY
Before Shabbat morning services begin on non-bar/bat mitzvah Saturdays, our congregation comes together at 9:45 am in the Alex & Leona Robinson pavilion for the innovative “Get BeTTeR program.” “BeTTeR” is an acronym for ‘Bagels and Talmud Torah with Rabbi.” Over bagels and coffee, we first spend a few minutes catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. Then, Rabbi Stephen Listfield leads the congregation in an exposition and discussion of the weekly Torah portion. Anything goes! We encourage people to ask anything, say anything and comment on anything. After this open discussion and Talmud Torah study, at about 10:45 am, we proceed to our chapel, where we continue with the actual Shabbat worship service led by Rabbi Listfield and members of the congregation. We abbreviate some of the prayers in order to conclude the service by 12:15 pm and adjourn to a Kiddush luncheon. Everyone is invited; there is no charge and no RSVP is required.
